ONE:TIME:ZONE AND THE OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC GAMES RIO 2016

ONE:TIME:ZONE AND THE OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC GAMES RIO 2016

The city of Rio de Janeiro has recently held the largest event in the world and ONE:TIME:ZONE is very proud to be part of it.

Over the last two years, we’ve partnered with the General Consulate and the Commerce and Industry German Chamber in order to launch the hospitality house OliAle: German on The Beach during the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio 2016.

The carioca lifestyle gave a warm welcome to the world as a whole and specifically to Germany with its 700 square meters pavilion beautifully constructed on the sand beaches of Leblon. A multicultural and democratic area that became the meeting ground for people from all over the world.

In an iconic scenery, surrounded by the Two Brothers Hill, the famous Christ the Redeemer Statue and Arpoador Beach, the OliAle expended German’s frontiers and united more then 150.000 participants.

On this diverse and welcoming atmosphere we promoted a real fun fest. An event that had everything. Delicious food, amazing music, sports and culture related activities, children area and environmental awareness games.

“Flora Pessanha and One Time Zone`s team went above and beyond to ensure the success of Oli Ale.  I would recommend them to everybody who wants to cooperate with a highly professional and experienced agency  “

Harald Klein, German Embassador.

LIVE BROADCAST

We screened the opening and closing ceremonies as well as the major competitions live through a display as large as an athletes Olympic’s dreams.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

The public got the opportunity to learn more about Germany through a boutique beer workshop, live shows from bands such as Jazztopia and Dixland, the famous Brazilian party Moo featuring German DJs and German style gastronomy.

In order to gave a taste of Brazilian culture to world and show its diversity to all people, we promoted slacklining, zumba, hula hoop and forró classes. We brought nationwide famous music artists such as Daniel Jobim and Alessandra Jackson, Pretinho da Serrinha, Donatinho, Ed Motta and Rogê. And of course, a samba school. Unidos da Tijuca brought the famous Brazilian rhythm to hundreds of sun drenched party seekers.

SOCIAL PROJECTS

World famous pianist Lang Lang’s performance with the Ação Social pela Música Orchestra moved the crowed. The Rocinha Music School and the Embaixadores da Alegria Samba School, a social program geared towards kids with disabilities, were also part of this big celebration.

KIDS PROGRAM

Kids are special. And so were their activities. Story telling, make up classes, art workshops, doll theatre and light painting were hits among the little ones. And, by the way, among the big ones too.

SPORT ACTIVITIES

To celebrate sports, we promoted volleyball, basketball, blind soccer and two very Brazilian sport competitions:  altinha, which is mix of volleyball and soccer, and frescobal, a mix of tennis and…well…who knows? We also made all the sport goods available for rent so everyone could join.

SUSTAINABILITY

The importance of sustainable practices were also emphasized with an organic products fair, a Masterclass about solar energy development and implementation and an art installation on global warming.
